Bodmin Youth Band wows crowds at Port Elliot Festival

Bodmin Youth Band delighted the crowds at Port Eliot Festival in St Germans this weekend in their first festival appearance since forming in 2018. The youth band, whose youngest players are just 8 years old, performed music from stage and screen. The crowd soon started clapping along to the music with some younger members of the audience joining in with tambourines. ‘We weren’t sure how well received brass band music would be at a festival,’ commented Musical Director Rachael Sargent, ‘but we needn’t have worried. The crowd loved the music and were really impressed with how well the children played.’ Even though the festival setting was a totally new experience for the young musicians, the whole youth band thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

If you missed out on seeing the band at Port Eliot Festival, then come along to Victoria Gardens in Truro on 1st September. Bodmin Youth Band will be playing a concert on the bandstand at 2.30pm. If you’d like to book Bodmin Youth Band for an event, or if you know a young person that would like to join us, contact Rachael Sargent 07734927448 or find us on facebook.
